Alumnus Jesse Wente Gives Keynote at ‘Campus (Re)conciliations’ Conference

Innis alumnus, Jesse Wente recently spoke at a conference at U of T regarding the role of universities in reconciling with Indigenous peoples. The conference brought together students, faculty, staff, and guest speakers to explore the meaning of ‘reconciliation’ and the ways that universities can participate in this process. Jesse delivered the keynote address, in which he spoke about Canada 150 and its relationship to the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s (TRC) Report. The report outlines 94 actions proposed by the federal government pertaining to reconciliation efforts.
