David Roberts Receives Early Career Teaching Award
Urban Studies faculty member, David Roberts spoke to U of T News about receiving the Early Career Teaching Award. David, along with three other faculty members were awarded for their dedication to student learning, engagement and innovation.
David began his career as a social worker at a youth homeless shelter before coming to U of T for his Masters and later his PhD. He hoped the additional schooling would give him a better sense of the underlying issues that cause urban poverty and youth homelessness.
Today David is an assistant professor of Urban Studies at Innis College, where he seeks to develop the critical thinking skills of his students, which he hopes they will carry with them in the future.
