MBNA Extends Support for Innis College Student-Alumni Programs
Through the University of Toronto Pillar Sponsorship program (a program supported by U OF T’S AFFINITY PARTNERS), Innis College has received funding from MBNA for its Backpack to Briefcase (B2B) series designed for upper year students making the
difficult transition to the working world.
A program originally developed for the College’s Cinema Studies students, B2B will now be rolled out to students in all academic disciplines.
This learning series will invite alumni to share their experiences and professional advice with upper year Innis College students. Through the series, students will learn about different career options, and develop the networking skills necessary for professional success. The series also offers alumni the opportunity to return to campus, interact with students, and help guide the next generation of leaders.
In 2010, MBNA generously sponsored the Principal’s Luncheon Series hosted by Principal Janet Paterson. Now in its 7th year, the Luncheon Series continues to connect high profile Innis alumni with students. Recent Principal’s Luncheon guests include: Jonathan Lister (Country Manager, Linked In), Dr. Stanley Zlotkin (Vice-President, Medical and Academic Affairs, The Hospital for Sick Children), Tamara Farber (Partner, Environmental Law, Miller Thomson LLP ), and Larry Wasser (President, Genuity Fund Management.
