Producer-writer-director Ngardy Conteh George and producer-writer Alison Duke of OYA Media Group present their highly acclaimed documentary Mr. Jane and Finch, which tells the story of Winston LaRose, an 80-year-old community activist, who inspires his Toronto community to challenge the traditional powers and runs for political office for the first time.
Winston LaRose and Innis alum and instructor Kofi Hope will join for a post-screening discussion.

Winston LaRose, an 80-year-old community activist who is affectionately known as Mr. Jane and Finch, has dedicated the last 25 years to supporting residents who live in the troubled community of Jane and Finch. With gentrification high up on the political agenda, he decides to run for office for the first time and challenge the entrenched powers for the seat of Ward 7.
