Innis Alumni & Friends


Nearly 70 years have passed since some 200,000 so-called “comfort women” were forced into sexual slavery by the Japanese army during the Second World War. The few living survivors continue to wait for a state apology and compensation.

News anchor Jennifer Moon (BA 2005 Innis) was inspired to highlight the issue after delivering news reports on the deaths of some South Korean survivors in late 2012. Fellow Innis alumna, Nadia Sui Van (HBA, 2010), has recently published Jennifer’s story in UofT Magazine. Read More.
