Dr. Alan Bernstein (’68 Innis) Addresses Innis Convocation
On June 17th, 2014, the newest cohort of Innis graduands was honoured with a convocation address by renowned alumnus Dr. Alan Bernstein (’68 INNIS). Dr. Bernstein’s address, entitled Avoid Straight Lines, was at times nostalgic, humorous, personal and, all the while, empowering. “Pursue a path that will make a difference in the world,” he advocated, “The world urgently needs you. And I know that, in so doing, you will develop a passion for what you are doing.”
In light of Innis’ 50th Anniversary year, Dr. Bernstein’s message was especially meaningful as he was a member of Innis’ very first class. It is with much gratitude that Innis welcomed Dr. Bernstein back, and it is with much enthusiasm that we say: Congratulations to the graduating class of 2014!
